birth partner

Congratulations, you’re pregnant! Both pregnant people and birth partners often feel both overwhelmed and excited. You may be sharing the news with family and friends, researching an OB or midwife, downloading pregnancy apps, and learning about your growing baby—there’s so much to do. You’re navigating the quirks of pregnancy, figuring out nutrition and exercise. You may also be balancing work and trying to address all your birth-related questions.

Questions like:

Where are you delivering?

Do you have a birth plan?

Are you considering an unmedicated birth?

How long do first births usually take?!

Amidst all this, you may be considering hiring a doula. A doula’s role is to provide additional support, making the experience more empowering.

birth support

During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions at hospitals limited the number of support people allowed during labor. This left many feeling isolated and unsupported. Many  birth partners were unable to join their labouring partner until admission. This left many feeling helpless during this crucial time. In response to this challenge, I felt compelled to channel my passion into a solution. I have developed a comprehensive course designed to empower birth partners to become the ultimate birth support. They can effectively step into the role of a doula when one cannot attend, can’t be booked, or isn’t affordable.By equipping birth partners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide support during labor and birth, my course aims to bridge this gap and ensure that every birthing person has the support they deserve.

In this comprehensive course, we’ll cover all the information you need to feel confident and prepared for the birthing experience. We’ll address common anxieties about childbirth, delve into the physiological birthing process, and explore what to expect once labor begins. We will discuss medical terminologies, various scenarios that may arise, making informed choices, creating birth plans, and options for medications and induction methods. We’ll leave no stone unturned. Moreover, we’ll explore comfort and positions that can help alleviate discomfort and facilitate progress during labor. We’ll also discuss the first few days postpartum and essential newborn care, ensuring you’re equipped for the journey ahead.

While birth is undoubtedly amazing and incredible, it’s also perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed, especially if it’s your first time. That’s why arming yourself with knowledge can make all the difference. We will demystify the process together and empower you to approach it with confidence. I would be delighted to welcome you and guide you through this epic journey at Ashby House. Stay tuned for upcoming dates in August and September! Let’s embark on this journey together and make your birth experience one to cherish. Click here to book an education session with Kaylee.
